You might have thought that my next post would be about the wedding...
or the honeymoon...
or any one of the lovely weekends that David and I have spent together in the last 3.5 months of marriage...
I've not blogged for a while and whenever I thought about it I felt it had to be special to get me blogging again.
Today I feel compelled to blog. At my company, I work regularly with a PR agency and one of the team members on my part of the business, died after being hit by a car as he walked home on Friday. I barely knew Anthony. I'd asked him what he was doing on Labor Day, I recieved an email from him with daily news updates, but I'd never met him in person.
However, he has touched me in so much in ways that I only wish he'd known during his short life.
As I read Dave and Sarah's blog today and they talked about losing a friend, it struck me that while these lives are too short, they remind us to be thankful for life. They remind us that while the task of unloading the dishwasher and writing that press release may be important in that moment, none of it really matters more than our loved ones.
David goes away tomorrow to England for a week, however, he's coming back to hold my hand when I need him. I am thankful he is in my life.
And to Anthony...thank you for reminding me what's important.
